The 500 kV Tongdu substation in Daye City, Hubei Province is a key project in Hubei Power Grid’s “14th Five-Year Plan”. It will significantly improve the power supply capacity in the eastern Hubei region.

Tongdu Substation is a key node of the “West-to-East Power Transmission” channel of the Central China Power Grid. It can transmit clean energy such as that generated by the Three Gorges Dam, and connect to Cihu, Optics Valley and Yongxing Converter Station through 500 kV transmission lines, optimizing the main grid structure of Hubei Power Grid. The station is expected to transmit more than 20 TWh of clean electricity per year, supporting the power consumption of key projects such as Wuhan Optics Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor and Huangshi Advanced Manufacturing Base, benefiting more than 5 million people in Huangshi, Ezhou and nearby regions.
