Schneider Electric Expands Manufacturing Capabilities in South Carolina, USA

The Richland facility manufactures NW breakers, low-voltage switchgear, and switchboards.

GSchneider Electric is to invest US$238 million to expand its manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, USA.

The expansion project will focus on two of Schneider Electric’s existing plants in the state:

  • The Seneca facility will undergo a US$145 million upgrade to increase its production of electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards.
  • The Columbia plant will receive a US$93 million investment to expand its manufacturing capabilities for electrical vehicle (EV) charging stations and other energy management solutions.

“This expansion is a testament to our confidence in the U.S. market and our ability to deliver innovative solutions that help our customers achieve their sustainability goals,” said Annette Clayton, CEO of Schneider Electric North America.

The expansion project is expected to be completed by 2025, and it will enable Schneider Electric to better serve its customers in the region and contribute to the development of a more sustainable and resilient electrical grid.
