Poland, Świnoujście: Orlen Neptun, a subsidiary of the Orlen Group, has inaugurated Poland’s first offshore wind installation terminal in Świnoujście. This facility is set to become a key hub for the Baltic Sea region, supporting the installation of dozens of offshore wind turbines annually.
The terminal will primarily serve Orlen’s second-phase offshore wind projects, with Ocean Winds as its first long-term commercial partner. The agreement covers nearly the entire terminal area, which will support the BC-Wind project located about 228 km offshore.
Designed for scale and efficiency, the Świnoujście terminal will handle delivery, storage, and loading of turbine components such as foundations, towers, blades, and nacelles. It can accommodate large jack-up and heavy-lift vessels and can support offshore substation topsides weighing up to 24,000 t.
Orlen’s CEO, Ireneusz Fąfara, emphasized the strategic importance of this investment: “We are not just building infrastructure – we are laying the foundations for an entirely new, future-ready sector of the economy. Offshore wind power will supply homes, businesses and transport with clean, reliable energy, while also opening the door to new areas of industrial growth.”
Ocean Winds’ managing director, Kacper Kostrzewa, highlighted the terminal’s readiness: “It fully meets our technical and timeline needs. BC-Wind is our first Baltic Sea project, and this partnership strengthens local offshore capabilities.”
The facility will be staffed by dozens of workers and rely on local contractors for logistics and port services, reinforcing regional participation in Poland’s energy transition.
