Saudi Arabia, Dhahran: NesmaKent Energy Company (NKJV), a joint venture between Nesma & Partners and Kent, has signed a major contract with Aramco to launch phase one of the National EPC Champion Initiative. This marks the beginning of the first Project Management Consultancy (PMC) agreement under the programme, positioning NesmaKent as a key contributor to Saudi Arabia’s evolving energy infrastructure.

The initial project focuses on upgrading water handling facilities in the South Ghawar Area, supporting Aramco’s strategic goal of maintaining Maximum Sustainable Capacity in crude oil production. NesmaKent’s role includes managing engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services to ensure efficient project execution with minimal operational impact.

Through this initiative, NesmaKent aims to streamline transitions from design scoping to front-end engineering, enhance risk management, and promote local workforce development. The company will implement advanced execution technologies, improve supply chain integration, and support sustainability objectives in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

As part of its broader commitment, NesmaKent is investing in training programmes to build national capabilities and support in-Kingdom value addition.

This collaboration represents a significant step in Aramco’s strategy to localise the EPC sector while boosting economic diversification.

General Manager Ahmad Hamadah stated, “Our collaboration with Aramco under this programme reflects a shared focus on excellence, innovation, and sustainability. We’re helping shape the future of Saudi energy.”
